Currently, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics and UNICEF Bangladesh are jointly conducting the 7th round of the ‘Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS): Round 7 (2024-2025)’ program. This is a globally conducted household survey. In this survey, 47 Primary Sampling Units (PSUs) have been identified in each of the 64 districts, Dhaka North and South City Corporations and Chittagong City Corporation. Again, information will be collected from 20 households from each PSU. Through this survey, information related to the socio-economic status of the people, maternal and child health, nutrition, education, disability, marriage, sanitation and hygiene, drinking water quality testing, salt quality testing, etc. will be collected through tabs from a total of 62,980 households in the country. The MICS 2025 survey will include, for the first time, anaemia testing of pregnant women and blood tests to assess the presence of lead levels and other heavy metals and micronutrients in the blood of children aged 01 to 04 years. The survey will be conducted with the aim of preparing indicators for about 30 SDG indicators and other important sectors. The indicators prepared based on the information collected from this survey will play an important role in the formulation and implementation of various strategic plans, five-year plans and monitoring the progress of various important indicators of SDGs. This survey will be conducted nationwide from 24 February, 2025 to 30 June, 2025.
